I built FormalTask to solve one problem: Claude Code agents write code well, but they have no concept of "done." An agent will implement a feature, say it's complete, and leave you to discover what's missing. There's no enforcement of reviews, no automated acceptance checks, no way to say "this task requires security review and passing tests before it can close." I wanted those requirements defined during planning and enforced by the system — not left to the agent's judgment. ft let's you declaratively define global rules and optional per epic / task rules.
