First and foremost, you can absolutely set your font-sizes: https://tailwindcss.com/docs/font-size#using-custom-values I do think there is a valid argument that Tailwind produces a lot of DOM noise and heavily runs counter to the past CSS ideas of what's efficient. That said, it's speed in development is far beyond what people (at least myself) can accomplish in Vanilla CSS. I also personally find upkeep much easier as I don't have to search through a huge style.css file to find my issues. I recommend looking more into customizing Tailwind. I often add my own classes and stuff like custom keyframes that offer the best of Vanilla CSS while keeping the dev speed of Tailwind. More on reddit.com
